Few things make me more grateful to live in Northern California than an ocean-side hike in January

The Bay
I recently forced my husband to have a date night and share some $1 oysters at a local restaurant. The view from their back patio may not be what most associate with San Francisco, but by now it feels like home.

I'm rarely one to volunteer an unnecessary pre-dawn wakeup, but it's almost always worth it. Thankful Noah got me out for this one.

Trail Mavens in Big Sur
I had the great fortune of joining a Trail Mavens weekend trip to Big Sur in September. Led by the ever-enthusiastic, enlightening, educational, effervescent Sasha Cox, I had a true getaway, where I met some fantastic women, took in new stunning landscapes, had honest campfire conversation and never checked my cell phone. By the end, it felt like I'd been gone for a week.

San Francisco Skyline
Making the last-minute decision to exit the Bay Bridge for Treasure Island is usually worth it. Especially around sunset.

The trip from Koh Phi Phi to Krabi was waaay better on the top deck. The half naked people seemed to agree.
